Sri Shanmugha Institute of Allied Health Science (AHS), established in 2018, is a premier institution dedicated to nurturing highly skilled healthcare professionals for India and the global medical industry. Located in Pullipalayam, Morur (P.O), Sankari (T.K), Salem District, the institution functions under the esteemed Sri Shanmugha Educational Institutions and is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

With a strong foundation built on academic excellence, clinical expertise, and value-based education, AHS offers specialized undergraduate programs in critical Allied Health domains such as Radiography & Imaging Technology, Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology, and Cardiac Technology. The institution emphasizes hands-on learning through modern laboratories, expert faculty guidance, and extensive hospital-based clinical training.

History (A Journey of Vision, Growth, and Transformation)

Legacy of AHS (2018–2025)

2018 – The Beginning of a Dream

  • Launch of six major AHS departments under SIMSAR.
  • First admissions in RIT, OTAT, and CT with 6 pioneering students.
  • Mr. Praveen S became the first-ever student of B.Sc. OTAT.
  • Training supported by the Pharmacy Principal and faculty like Dr. Vinoth Kumar.
  • Students engaged in lab exposure and clinical postings at Sudha Multispecialty, Lotus Hospital, MMCH & more.

2019 – Growth & Advancement

  • Student strength rose to 11.
  • Nursing Principal assumed charge.
  • Additional clinical tie-ups with Rainbow, Care 24, Senthil, and Kavin Hospitals.
  • RIT student represented AHS at a national conference in Coimbatore.

2020 – Full Academic Expansion

  • Online teaching, subject allocation, and faculty development strengthened academic delivery.
  • OTAT student published the book “Tamil Kavithai,” showcasing student creativity.

2022 – Stability & Progress

  • Around 30 students continued their academic journey with consistency and discipline.
  • Strong clinical and academic activities remained the core focus.

2023 – Skill Development Era

  • Student numbers reached approximately 37.
  • Confido Communication Training introduced.
  • Dreamdaa English Communication Programme launched in May 2023.

2024 – Celebrations, Collaborations & Academic Milestones

  • Initiated Department Day Celebrations (starting with Optometry on 23rd March).
  • OTAT department conducted the first-ever AHS Conference on 16th October.
  • 11 medical faculty appointed, strengthening academic leadership.
  • Students won the overall trophy in the Neptune Sports Program.
  • International collaboration with AIMST University, Malaysia.
  • Iraianbu Mentoring Programme initiated.

2025 – Global Integration & Institutional Reinforcement

  • Leadership strengthened under Principal Dr. Shabana Begum M.
  • Optometry students won the TN Smartcard Award at “Zero to One.”
  • Cambridge English Training and Exams launched (June 2025).
  • Submission of 11 MSME-funded projects.
  • MLT students published scientific articles.
  • New government and private hospital tie-ups across Tamil Nadu.
  • Clinical access expanded: 11 hospitals in Erode, 8 in Tiruchengode, 4 in Salem.
